The Siena Swimming and Diving Team fell out of their tie for fourth place and are currently in fifth place after day two of the MAAC Championships. Senior Shannon Love's fifth place finish in the 50 free was the best finish of the day for the Saints.
The Saints started off the afternoon session with a sixth place finish in the 200 free relay, followed by Jacque Medina and Megan Grace picking up six and five points respectively in the 500 free.
All four of the Saints 200 IM swimmers would pick up points, led by Emily Carideo, who picked up five points, as Siena looked to keep pace with the top half of the conference.
Love would give Siena a big boost in the 50 free, swimming a 24.17 in the final round. Her finals time was good for fifth place, one place higher than she finished last year, and scored 14 points for the team.
Hailey Beers and Michelle Swanson would close out the day for the Saints, with Beers scoring a 190.05 in the 1 meter dive, good for 7th place, and Swanson picking up a point for the Saints.
The Saints currently sit in fifth place with 131 points and are 23 points behind fourth place Saint Peter's. Defending champion Marist leads all teams with 312 points.
The action heats up again today at 10 a.m. with the preliminary round of the women's 400 IM.
