March 30, 2015 Sophomore Javion Ogunyemi has informed men's basketball coach Jimmy Patsos of his desire to leave Siena and explore other opportunities following the spring semester.
"Javion said he wants a change of scenery and a new journey," Patsos said. "We want him to be happy. He's a good basketball player and a good person."
Ogunyemi, a 6-8 forward from Troy, N.Y., appeared in all 31 games this past season, making 28 starts. He finished fourth on the team with nine points and second with 4.8 rebounds per game. In his two years with the program, Ogunyemi averaged 5.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 19 minutes in 61 games played.
"I would like to thank Coach Patsos and the Siena family for giving me the opportunity to be part of a great basketball program the last two years," Ogunyemi said. "I wish Coach Patsos and the team the best of luck in the upcoming seasons."
Ogunyemi is currently in good academic standing at Siena.
