Siena softball begins this year's MAAC tournament just as they did last year's MAAC tournament, as the four seed with a matchup against the number five seed Monmouth Hawks. The Saints and Hawks will meet today at 2:50 p.m. at the Demske Sports Complex on the campus of Canisius College. The game will be streamed live online on MAAC.TV.

The Saints will look to build on last year's tournament where they won the second MAAC Tournament game in program history, eliminating host Fairfield. They will also look to avenge their 2-1 loss to Monmouth in the first round of last year's tournament. Siena swept Monmouth during the regular season beating them 7-3, and 9-1 in Loudonville.

Offensively the Saints are led by senior Paige Lloyd, who leads the team in batting average, home runs and RBI's, and is second on the team in hits. Siena as a team out hit opponents .342 to .252 in MAAC play this season. Sophomore Amanda Gatt pitched three shutouts during MAAC play posting a 2.14 ERA.

The Hawks come in winners of their last four MAAC games, sweeping both Canisius and Niagara in the final weekend of play. Kayleena Flores leads Monmouth with a .330 batting average, while Rachel Shotzbarger leads the team with 3 home runs and 19 RBI's. Sydney Underhill started 23 games for the Hawks this season going 5-13 with a 4.47 ERA.
