Sept. 13, 2015

Final Stats

Loudonville, N.Y.- Lock Haven used two first half goals, one from Rachel Valentine and the other from Lydia George as the Bald Eagles topped Siena Field Hockey 2-0. Senior goalkeeper Mary Drabich recorded seven saves for the Saints.

Siena (1-4) and Lock Haven (6-0) were equal in corners at 5 apiece while the Bald Eagles held a 10-6 edge in shots. Senior Katie Wells led the Saints with three shots. Three other Siena players tallied one shot each.

The Bald Eagles got on the board (22') when Valentine received a pass from George and she flipped the ball over Drabich, who found herself out of position. Valentine deposited the ball in the back of the net to record her team-leading fifth goal of the season.

Lock Haven would add their second tally of the half (30') when George broke free from the defense and scored by getting the ball inside the left post. The goal was her first of the season.

Paige Stuppy made two saves in goal for the Eagles and recorded her fifth win of the season.

The Saints now embark on a six-game road trip beginning on Sept. 19, when they play The University of Maine in the Catamount Classic in Burlington, Vt. The game is slated to start at 1:30 p.m.
