Siena opened MAAC play today on the road at Monmouth with a 5-0 loss. Freshman goalkeeper Mary Crumlish had 12 saves for the Saints.
Monmouth (10-2, 1-0) started the scoring in the sixth minute on a goal by Kelly Hanna with an assist from Meg Donohue. Julie Laszlo added another goal in the 19th minute to give the Hawks a 2-0 halftime lead over the Saints (1-8, 0-1).
Alyssa Ercolino put the Hawks up 3-0 just two minutes into the second half . Lazslo scored her second goal of the game in the 49th minute and Georgia Garden Bachop added the final goal with five minutes to go to make the final score 5-0.
Crumlish added her 12 saves to give the freshman 84 on the season. Coming into today, Crumlish was ranked third in the NCAA in saves per game with 9.0. Aubrie Bleier and Fariyah Omarshah led the Siena offense with two shots on goal each.
