Binghamton rallied for a 4-3 victory over Siena Sunday in a non-league contest at the Tri City Tennis Center in Latham. The Bearcats won three-set matches at first and second singles to take the match.
Siena began the match by winning two of three doubles matches to take the doubles point. Ali Garrity and Mitsuki Fukamachi teamed for a 6-2 win at top doubles, and MAAC Player of the Week Allysa Singh paired with freshman Natalie Weaver for a comeback win at second doubles to secure the point. Singh and Weaver were down 4-1 before rallying for a 7-6 win.
The Bearcats made a big rally, taking fifth and sixth singles to get back in the match. Siena got singles victories from Fukamachi and Singh at third and fourth singles, and held a 3-2 lead as the top two singles slots needed an extra set. Binghamton pulled out victories in both. Sara Kohtz clinched the match with a tight win over Garrity, after Annie DiMuro rallied past Rina Sakai.
Siena drops to 4-2 overall and travel to Saint Peters next Sunday in its first MAAC match of the spring season.
