The Siena women's tennis team fell to sister school St. Bonaventure by a final of 5-2 on Saturday. In the doubles portion of the match, Ann Phillips and Erika Reagan teamed up at third to get the 6-4 victory. The Bonnies took the first two doubles matches and clinched the point for St. Bonaventure.
In singles play, Natalie Weaver had another good day, winning 6-0, 6-2 at the fifth singles position and Julia Dunbar won at six singles by a final of 6-2, 6-4. Ally Garrity dropped a very tight three set match, losing the third set 6-4. At third singles Fukamachi played a very tight match losing 6-4, 7-6 (5) and Singh lost a tight one at fourth singles 7-5, 7-6 (6).
"It was a bit of a tough break today," Siena head coach Jeff Osborn said. "They started a little flat but battled back hard and the difference of the match was a few points here or there".
The Saints continue their Western New York swing Sunday when they meet up with MAAC rival Niagara at 1 p.m.
