April 9, 2016 Final Stats
The Siena women's tennis team returned to the court for their first match in a week and was able to defeat Monmouth by a final 6-1. The Saints swept all three doubles matches and then took five out of six singles matches to clinch the victory and move to 3-1 in league play.
Siena won the doubles matches in convincing fashion, not allowing Monmouth to win more than three games at any of the doubles positions. Notable performances in doubles came at number three where Julia Dunbar and Rina Sakai won six straight games to put the team in good position to clinch the doubles point. Allysa Singh and Natalie Weaver's 6-2 victory at number two doubles clinched the point for the Saints going into singles play.
Siena went on to take five of the six singles matches, all in straight sets. Erika Reagan blanked Rayne Ruoff at number six (6-0, 6-0) while Singh only gave up one game at number four, taking out Kendal Kauffman (6-0, 6-1).
The Saints return to action on Tuesday when they take on crosstown rival UAlbany at 1 p.m.
