Taylor Rideout Hired as Field Hockey Assistant

July 5, 2016

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- Siena Field Hockey Head Coach Kara Zappone has announced the hiring of Taylor Rideout as the program's assistant coach. The Barrington, Rhode Island native joins the Saints' coaching staff following a successful four-year undergraduate career at the University of New Hampshire.

"I am very excited to add Taylor to the Siena Field Hockey family," Zappone noted. "Taylor comes from a very successful UNH program where she knows and understands what it takes to be successful in Division I hockey. Having just graduated, Taylor is going to have fresh ideas for Siena and help make our program better. "

At UNH, Rideout appeared in 63 games over the course of her collegiate career while helping lead the Wildcats to 44 victories. Rideout was a key to the program success, which was highlighted by two America East Regular Season Championships, and one Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.

Besides bringing success to UNH on the field, Rideout was named to the American East Honor Roll twice as she pursued her degree in Kinesiology. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in May 2016.

No stranger to the coaching scene, Rideout comes to the Saints with experience from Seacoast United Field Hockey Club as well as with multiple camps including Peak Field Hockey, UNH and College Connection.

Rideout joins a Siena program which finished the 2015 campaign with one of the most successful seasons in recent memory, posting a 4-12 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the MAAC. Last year's squad tied the school record for both its most overall and conference wins since 2002. The Saints also defeated the first place team in the MAAC on the final weekend of the regular season for the second consecutive year.
