Final Stats

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Four Siena Women's Basketball players scored in double-digits to help push the Saints past Niagara, 71-53. Siena scored 24 points off of 52.6-percent shooting in the first quarter, their most in any first quarter this season to help guide them to a victory.

Kollyns Scarbrough had her first double-double and Siena's second double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Jackie Benitez also recorded 15 points for the Saints after going a perfect four-for-four (1.000) from the charity stripe. Siena recorded just nine turnovers, tied for the least amount this season.

Niagara was led by Tiffany Corselli who scored 14 points and hit three of the Purple Eagle's seven three pointers. Kaylee Stroemple added 11 points for Niagara.

Meghan Donohue opened up the scoring and after the score was tied just two times, Siena would never look back. The Saints never trailed in the contest and held the Purple Eagles who are shooting 41.7-percent from the field, second in the MAAC, to just 30.5-percent. After the score was tied 5-5 with 7:35 left in the first quarter, the Saints went on a 17-0 run and held the Purple Eagles scoreless for 6:31. Siena held Niagara to just eight points in the first quarter, the second fewest points allowed by the Saints in any quarter this season.

The Purple Eagles did not score in the second quarter until the 4:37 mark. The Saints again held Niagara to just eight points and led at the half for just the fifth game this season, 34-16. At the half, Scarbrough had five steals, tying her career-high.

Both teams came out strong in the third quarter, with Siena outscoring the Purple Eagles 20-19. The 20 points scored in the quarter was just the third game where Siena scored 20-plus points in two quarters. The last time that happened was at UAlbany on Nov. 27.

Siena took their largest lead of the game of 24-points, 66-42 on a trey from Benitez. The Purple Eagles continued to fight, but the Saints took the victory 71-53. Their second lowest amount scored by an opponent this season since they allowed 52 by Fairfield on Dec. 1. Siena's margin of victory, 18-points, is the most since they defeated Rider 66-45 on Jan. 8, 2016. The 71 points scored by Siena was the most since they put up 86 at UAlbany in overtime on Nov. 27.

Senior captain Meghan Donohue added 10 points, while Deja Rawls tied her season-high as she dished out six assists. Victoria Rampado, who averages 17.1 points per game for Niagara, was held to just eight points. That is her second lowest scoring game this season.
