Final Stats

Siena Women's Tennis clinched a spot in the MAAC Championship with a 5-2 victory over Fairfield at Yale Indoor Courts on Saturday afternoon. The Saints will make their second straight appearance in the MAAC Championships.

The Saints started off strong by sweeping all three doubles with a score of 6-3 to take the point. Seniors Ali Garrity and Mitsuki Fukamachi remain undefeated in doubles play and won before Juliana Goehner and Anessa Leyva won on court three to ultimately clinch the doubles point.

In singles, Siena won on courts one through four. Fukamachi clinched the match point at singles three with a 6-0, 6-2 win. Ivana Boberic continued her strong season at two singles and took down Fairfield 6-1, 6-0. Siena was up 5-0 before the Stags came back to win on courts five and six for two points. Goehner took the first set on court six but fell 10-8 in the tiebreaker. Siena won and improved to 16-1 on the season.

Siena will take on Niagara on Sunday, Apr. 23 at Albany Academy for the final match of the regular season. The Saints will honor seniors Garrity and Fukamachi at 10:15 a.m. before their match which is set to begin at 12 p.m.
