ALBANY, N.Y. - Siena Field Hockey dropped their non-conference matchup to Miami (Ohio) 7-0 at the University at Albany on Sunday morning. Siena tallied three shots on goal in the contest.

Mary Crumlish recorded 10 saves, while freshman Brenna Miller who played in her first collegiate game for Siena (0-2) tallied two saves while allowing no goals. Katelyn McMahon picked up a defensive save for the Saints.

Paula Portugal and Brie Stahl each tallied two goals a piece for Miami (OH) (2-0). Three other Redhawks each recorded one goal.

Miami (OH) got the ball rolling right off the stick and tallied their first goal of the game in the 3' with Portugal putting it in the opposite corner. Portugal followed that up with her second goal of the game in the 4' to put the Redhawks up 2-0 early. Miami (OH) controlled possession for most of the first half and picked up their third goal of the game off a penalty corner rebound. Adding one more goal in the 29', the Redhawks were up 4-0 at the half.

It was a tightly contested start to the second half, where both teams battled hard for a goal. In the 54', Miami (OH) struck again on a rebound to go up 5-0. The Saints would get some good shots off, but Redhawk goalie Maddie Passarella came up with three saves in the game. Miami (OH) would tally two more goals before time ran out to take the game 7-0.

The Saints were outshot 32-4, with Siena taking two shots each half. Miami (OH) tallied eight penalty corners compared to the Saints not recording one.

Siena hits the road to Hempstead, New York where they will take on Hofstra in a midweek matchup on Wednesday, Aug. 30. Game time is set for 12 p.m.
