Siena Women's Tennis continued their fall opening tournament at the Mount Invitational hosted by Mount St. Mary. Siena won five out of nine singles matches with Rina Sakai, Kylie Mullaney and Juliana Goehner all advancing to the championship singles match.

Mullaney and Leyva took the Flight A doubles title after taking down Loyola's Martin and Lanciano 6-3. Also, in Flight A, Natalie Weaver and Nanea Perkins took third place in the championship bracket with a 6-3 victory over Green and Yang of George Mason.

Sakai will take on fellow Saint Mullaney in the Flight B Championship match after winning 5-0 default. Mullaney made it to the finals after taking down Maria Rey of Hartford Community College 6-1, 6-1.

Goehner will play in the championship match in Flight D after defeating Jenna Granato of Loyola 1-6, 6-0 (10-5).

Ivana Boberic will face Alexa Quintanilla of Mount St. Mary in the third/fourth place playoff match after falling in the semifinals. Weaver defeated Hannah Yang of George Mason to advance to the consolation finals in flight A.

Perkins took the first set 6-2, but Nicole Halgwood from George Mason took the next two 6-4 (10-5). Perkins will play in the third/fourth place championship playoff. Anessa Leyva defeated Alex Agee of Loyola 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the consolation championship in flight C.

Julia Dunbar fell in her consolation semifinal match and will play in the 7th/8th place playoff match in the consolation bracket of Flight D.

Ann Phillips is also in the third/fourth place playoff match after falling in a tight matchup against Lauren Dupuis of George Mason 6-4, 2-6 (10-8).

In Flight B doubles, Boberic and Dunbar took seventh place after winning 6-2 in the consolation bracket. Philips and Sakai won third place in the flight B doubles in the championship bracket.

The Saints finish up their time at the Mount St. Mary Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 24 beginning at 9 a.m.
