Final Stats

Siena Women's Tennis fell 6-1 to UConn at East Hartford Tennis Club Sunday morning. Senior Rina Sakai was the sole points for the Saints

" I am very proud of how the women played today against an extremely talented UConn team," said head coach Jeff Osborn. " We had several close matches and I believe our non conference schedule will help us get ready for our tough MAAC conference opponents."

In doubles, UConn started off with the point taking all three courts. Natalie Weaver and Nanea Perkins came out strong playing a close match, but fell 6-4 on court one. Both Kylie Mullaney with Ann Phillips and Ivana Boberic with Sakai fell 6-2 on respective courts two and three. UConn led 1-0 heading into singles play.

Sakai took the only point for the Saints at singles five in a tight three sets 2-6, 7-6, 7-2. Mullaney and Perkins dropped two hard fought battles with Mullaney dropping in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 on court two and Perkins falling 6-4, 6-4 on court four. UConn five of the six singles points to take the victory 6-1.

Siena will host Providence at TriCity in Latham, New York on Saturday, February 4. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
