Ten things to know about the matchup:
- After pulling out its first win of the 2018-19 season earlier in the week, the Saints had their bid of back-to-back non-conference victories close since defeating Howard and Colgate on Nov. 25 & Nov. 29, 2017.
- Siena posted several notable team numbers in its 86-81 thriller over the Bison Monday evening. The team posted its highest point total since defeating Monmouth, 91-86 in double-overtime on Jan. 12, 2017. The team's nine made three-pointers were its most in a contest since draining nine in a win over Canisius on Feb. 18, 2017. Furthermore, four Saints put up double-digit scoring for the first time since a Feb. 25, 2018 win over Saint Peter's.
- Down by as many as 17 points in the third quarter, Siena completed its largest comeback since trailing by 20 at Canisius on Jan. 11, 2015, a 71-70 won that came during the year of the "Magnificent Seven", who guided the squad to the WBI Semifinals.
- Junior Maddie Sims (21 pts, 11 reb) & freshman Amari Anthony (12 pts, 10 reb) each posted their first career double-double in the contest, marking the first time since Feb. 2, 2016 that multiple Saints have done so in a game. Additionally, Anthony becomes the first Siena freshman since Margot Hetzke (five during the 2014-15 season) on Feb. 21, 2015 to record the feat.
- A handful of players achieved career highs on Monday, including Sims (pts & reb), Anthony (pts, reb & ast), Marilena Gerostergiou (assists), and Sabrina Piper (assists).
- The Saints are competing in their 16th Thanksgiving tournament all-time, traveling to the TD Bank Classic for the second time ever (1-1 in 2013). In past year's teams such as Tennessee, NC State, Auburn, Louisville, Vanderbilt and St. John's and coaches Pat Summitt and Kay Yow, have participated in the tournament. The TD Bank Classic also boasts 10 alumni who have gone on to play in the WNBA.
- This weekend marks the first time since the 2015-16 campaign (Preseason WNIT & Navy Classic) that the squad has partaken in both neutral site action and a Thanksgiving tournament.
- Siena holds a 1-2 all-time record against Drexel (including last night), with the teams splitting a home-and-home during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons. The Saints are 14-15 all-time againt Vermont and 6-6 when playing Wagner.
- The Green and Gold are 7-14 all-time when facing a member of the Colonial Athletic Conference. Drexel is the first of two CAA opponents that the team will see this year, with Hofstra coming to town on Dec. 21. The team is 24-13 against NEC (Wagner) foes, including 0-1 this season, having already fallen to Sacred Heart.
- Adding one assist to her total on Monday, senior Deja Rawls sits at 23rd place all-time in career assists (249). Rawls needs one more helps to tie Linda Ryan (250, 1982-85) for 22nd.
