Women's Tennis Tops Providence

Final Stats

Siena Women's Tennis bounced back after last week and took down Providence 5-2 at TriCity in Latham, New York. The Saints improved to 3-1 on the season.

"Today at 1 and 2 in doubles we just had to many unforced errors," said head coach Jeff Osborn. "I am happy that the girls mentally were able to block out doubles and move forward and play great in singles."

On court one in doubles, the Saints fell 6-0. Julia Dunbar and Rina Sakai then took court three 6-1 to leave it all up to court two's dup of Ivana Boberic and Kylie Mullaney. After a hard-fought battle the Friars took the doubles point after winning on court two 6-4.

Siena then dominated in singles play winning on five of six courts with strong play from Natalie Weaver, Mullaney and Sakai. Sakai clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win on singles five. All five six courts were won in straight sets.

Siena will host Colgate on Friday, February 9 at 5 p.m. at TriCity in Latham, New York.
