Siena Women's Tennis took down league foe Niagara 5-2 on Saturday evening. The Saints now improve to 2-0 in league play.
Ivana Boberic and Annie Phillips won 6-1 at doubles two and left it up to Siena doubles duo at one and three. Rina Sakai and Julia Dunbar then won at doubles three 6-3 to clinch the Saints doubles points. Kylie Mullaney and Juliana Goehner won at doubles one but the Saints already led 1-0 heading into singles play.
Phillips quickly swept in two sets 6-0, 6-1 at singles six to put Siena up 2-0. Sakai also won in two straight set 6-0, 6-2 for a 3-0 Siena lead. Niagara then took the next two points at singles two and three. However, Goehner won in three sets 4-6, 6-3, 10-3 to clinch the Saints victory. Boberic won at singles one to give the Saints a 5-2 win.
Siena will take on St. Bonaventure on the road on Sunday, March 18 at 10 a.m.
