LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Men's Soccer head coach
Cesar Markovic announced the signing of three new players to the squad, Friday morning. Comprised of a pair of collegiate transfers and an incoming freshman, the group is enrolled at Siena for the Spring 2019 semester, in preparation for the 2019 season in the fall.
Looking to build on a 5-10-3 overall record from last season, including a 4-6 mark in conference play, the team welcomed
Antonio Linge,
Jacob Pacheco and
Tyler Swanbeck to the roster. Together, the three boast both national and international soccer accomplishments, both on the field and in the classroom.
A native of Cottbus, Germany, Antonio Linge comes to the Capital Region with a season of NCAA Division I soccer already under his belt. The 6-2 defender spent the Fall 2018 semester at Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC, redshirting for the Camels. Prior to his time in the states, Linge played for FC Energie Cottbus Academy, which sits in the top tier of U19 soccer in Germany.
"Toni has a fantastic left foot and is dominant in the air as a central defender. He comes from a tremendous German soccer tradition. he played at the very highest level of Junior soccer in Germany. He will give us a much-needed left-footed defender and will be a key player in our build-up." –

A product of Taos, New Mexico, Jacob Pacheco joins the Saints straight off capturing an NJCAA National Championship during the Fall 2018 season. The Center back helped Pima Community College of Tuscon, Arizona capture its first ever NJCAA Division I National Championship, making 25 starts out of 27 appearances in the Aztecs' backfield. In total, Pacheco made 41 appearances in two seasons at PCC, scoring a pair of goals during his most recent campaign. A 2016 graduate of Taos High School, Pacheco led his team to a runner-up finish in the 2016 state championships and also lettered in four years of track & field and three years of football, winning three track state championships.

Originally from Hebron, Maine, Tyler Swanbeck joins Siena as a member of the Class of 2022, enrolling after spending a semester at the prestigious Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire. A 5-11 midfielder, Swanbeck was selected as the 2018 United Soccer Coaches National Scholar Player of the Year, winning the award nationally among all male high school soccer players. A four-year starter and two-year captain at Hebron Academy, he was twice an All-New England Prep School Second Team selection and also earned Academic All-American honors.
"Tyler is a true two-way midfielder. He is intelligent, skillful and disciplined. Tyler has great potential to be a leader on this team. I'm really looking forward to watching him develop into that. He is the current National Scholar Athlete of the Year, which is something I am proud to be bringing to Siena College" –
