BUFFALO, NY – Siena Men's & Women's Cross Country teams withered both rigorous competition and the elements Friday morning at the 2019 NCAA Northeast Region Cross Country Championships in Buffalo, NY. Both teams took 25
th place in their second straight postseason competition, which was run on a road course at the University at Buffalo due to inclement weather that resulted in an un-runable course at the Audubon Country Club.
Competing as one of the team's seven entrants for the fourth straight year, men's senior
Evans Kibet ran the program' second-fastest time ever in the 10k, recording a time of 29:55.3 to place 51
st individually as the team's top finisher. Kibet's mark stands second only to Siena Cross Country legend
Joe Rukanshagiza, who ran a 29:30,0 in the event at the 1973 NCAA Division 1 Championships.
Finishing second behind Kibet for the second consecutive postseason meet, 2019 All-MAAC finisher
Aidan Gillooley continued his successful rookie season by running a time of 30:57.6, good for 199
th individually and 19
th among men's freshmen competing.
