BUFFALO, NY – Siena Men's & Women's Cross Country teams withered both rigorous competition and the elements Friday morning at the 2019 NCAA Northeast Region Cross Country Championships in Buffalo, NY. Both teams took 25^th place in their second straight postseason competition, which was run on a road course at the University at Buffalo due to inclement weather that resulted in an un-runable course at the Audubon Country Club.

Competing as one of the team's seven entrants for the fourth straight year, men's senior Evans Kibet ran the program' second-fastest time ever in the 10k, recording a time of 29:55.3 to place 51^st individually as the team's top finisher. Kibet's mark stands second only to Siena Cross Country legend Joe Rukanshagiza, who ran a 29:30,0 in the event at the 1973 NCAA Division 1 Championships.

Finishing second behind Kibet for the second consecutive postseason meet, 2019 All-MAAC finisher Aidan Gillooley continued his successful rookie season by running a time of 30:57.6, good for 199^th individually and 19^th among men's freshmen competing.
Rounding out the team's seven-man competition squad at the event were sophomore Owen Walker (164^th, 31:40.9) senior Michael Rautter (165^th, 31:43.4), freshman Brandon Olden (180^th, 32:08.5), junior Aidan Canavan (186^th, 32:13.6) and senior Michael Stoker (32:25.7).

Fresh off All-MAAC performances at the 2019 MAAC Championships two weeks ago, women's sophomore Olivia Lomascolo and junior Monica Strain logged the top two finishes in the women's 6k for the Saints, taking 107^th (21:29.3) and 118^th (21:39.2) individually.
 
Following behind for the Green and Gold on the women's side were senior Carolyn Pellegrini (131^st, 21:48.4), senior Sydney Johnson (141^st, 21:53.1), senior Camryn Johnson (151^st, 22:07.6), junior Morgan Serkes (190^th, 22:43.8) and freshman Sophia Vinciguerra (201^st, 22:49.4).
 
Siena will be in action one final time during the Fall 2019 season next week, competing as a team at the 2019 IC4A/ECAC Championships. The meet is set to take place at Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx, NY on Saturday, November 23, and will begin at 10 AM.
