Ten things you need to know in Siena's game vs. FAU:
  • The Saints broke a six-game losing skid dating back to the end of last season, with their last win coming in an overtime thriller at MAAC rival Canisius on Feb. 22, 2019 prior to their win over Sacred Heart on Saturday.
  • The only matchup between the two programs came last year on Dec. 1, 2018 at the Times Union Center in Albany. The Owls took the matchup over the Saints 70-66, as Sabrina Piper added seven rebounds, a pair of assists, and a steal to her 16 points. Amari Anthony topped out at 11 points with three rebounds, two steals, and a block. Joella Gibson and Deja Rawls each tallied nine points, with Rawls adding four assists.
  • Florida Atlantic Head Coach Jim Jabir faces his former team, as he was the head coach of the Saints from 1987-90.
  • Additionally, Siena Head Coach Ali Jaques served under Jabir as an assistant coach at Dayton during the 2005-06 season. That year, the Flyers would go 17-12 with an 8-8 mark in the A-10, losing out to Temple in the second round of the conference tournament in Philadelphia.
  • Siena is 0-2 against Conference USA opponents all-time. Next to the Saints loss to the Owls last season, Siena's other matchup with a C-USA program was the 1999 home opener against Tulane, falling by a final score of 97-92 in overtime.
  • This will be Siena's first game in Florida since 2016, when they traveled to Florida Gulf Coast on Dec. 9 of that year.
  • Three members of the Green and Gold scored in double figures during the team's 68-57 win versus Sacred eartHeHeart on Saturday. Senior Sabrina Piper led the way with a season-high 24 points. The team's lone senior has now led it in scoring in each of the first four games of the season.
  • Junior Marilena Gerostergiou and freshman Ashley Williamson also logged double-digit scoring performances on Saturday, with Gerostergiou netting 10 points and Williamson recording the first collegiate points of her career with 11 points.
  • Freshman Julia Hauer became the second freshman in as many years to record a double-double for the season, joining Amari Anthony's 12-10 performance from last season at Howard.
  • Hauer sank 11 points in her collegiate debut versus Binghamton back on Nov. 5. Her total was the most points in a collegiate debut since Margot Hetzke scored 29 against Buffalo on Nov. 14, 2014 in a 58-50 Siena win.
