Siena Swimming currently holds eighth place following the first two events at the 2019 MAAC Championships. The Saints took part in the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard freestyle relay, Wednesday evening, to kick off the week at the Burt Flickinger Pool on the campus of Erie Community College in Buffalo, NY.
The team posted a pair of season best times in the events, which were held as part of six total events that included men's 1-meter diving and male relays. The team of
Isabel Harms,
Larissa Nanna,
Elizabeth Fournier and
Francesca Tinucci took eighth in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:49.37, good for nearly a two-and-a-half second improvement from their seed time. Harms joined
Carrie Bonvissuto,
Katelyn Ludwicki and
Rachel Brown in taking sixth in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:50.61, nearly three seconds better than the group's seed time.
With 48 total points, Siena stands ahead of Manhattan and Saint Peter's (32 points) and trails Monmouth by two. Day two of the 2019 MAAC Championships begin Thursday at 10 AM with the 500-yard freestyle race.
