A Pair of Siena swimmers advanced to and participated in final heats in their respective events at day two of the 2019 MAAC Championships at the Burt Flickinger Center in Buffalo, NY Thursday.
Junior
Carrie Bonvissuto took 15th overall in the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:14.39 and a preliminary time of 5:13.60, while junior
Rachel Brown placed 16th in the 50-yard freestyle with a 24.79 and a 24.56 in the preliminary round, with both qualifier marks going for personal bests. Additionally, the group of Brown,

Elizabeth Fournier took eighth place in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:39.06).
Following the three events that the Saints took part in, as well as the women's 3-meter diving, the team remains in eighth place out of 10 squads with 73 points, trailing Monmouth by 26 points and creating a margin between Saint Peter's (50) and Manhattan (37).
Overall, the team took home five best times and saw nearly every swimmer that took the pool improve from their seed time in the day's action. Bonvissuto grabbed the 16th and final qualifying spot in the 500 free, while senior
Julianna Sebastian came in right behind with a 5:15.37, setting a personal best by over three seconds. Ludwicki (5:19.59) finished 23rd in the race, whole sophomore
Sydney Lautenslager (5:21.07) took 28th and senior
Emma Rupert (5:25.36) finished 30th.
The 200-yard individual medley preliminaries brought another best time and saw a pair of Siena swimmers move up from their seed times. Freshman
Sarah Duggan led the way in 20th overall, while junior
Larissa Nanna swam a 2:15.98 for 21st. Junior
Alyssa Lewis placed 38th overall in the event, earning a personal best time of 2:24.07.
The team capped the morning session with five Saints swimming in the 50 free, highlighted by Brown's 24.56, giving her the No. 16 seed in the final heat and making her the first Siena swimmer in two seasons to break 25 seconds in the (standalone) event. Tinucci followed with a for 24th place, while captain
Maggie Davenport placed 32nd with a. Sophomore
Shannon Leary accomplished a best time of 26.16 for 39th place, while Lewis placed 44
th.
