Jorge Arenas delivered the go-ahead RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning as 2018 NCAA Super Regional participant Stetson edged Siena Baseball 3-2 in DeLand, Florida. Brendan White went the distance on the mound in suffering the tough luck loss for the Saints.

White scattered nine hits and three runs over his eight innings of work for Siena (1-4). He struck out three without issuing a walk.

Robbie Peto allowed two runs (one earned) over six innings with no walks and five strikeouts in receiving a no-decision for Stetson (1-5).

The Hatters claimed a 2-0 lead through four innings, on RBI hits in the second and fourth from Jonathan Meola. The Stetson third baseman finished a perfect 3-3 with a run scored.

Siena rallied with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to knot the score. Evan St. Claire reached on an infield single to chase home Jonathan Crimmin in the fifth, while Matt Hamel singled home Carson Dunkel in the sixth. Hamel led the Saints offensively with a pair of hits.

The teams resume action with the third game of the four-game wraparound weekend series Monday at 6:30 p.m.
