Ten things to know for Thursday's game versus the Gaels:
- The Saints dropped a tough conference bout Sunday afternoon, falling at Manhattan, 52-48. For only the second time this season, the squad did not feature a player in double figure scoring, with Aaliyah Jones, Maddie Sims & Sabrina Piper all leading the way with nine points each.
- Following a win over Monmouth on Saturday, Jan. 19, Head Coach Ali Jaques became the second women's head coach in program history to reach 60 conference victories. Currently in her seventh year at the helm, Jaques holds a 98-114 all-time record, now just two wins away from becoming the third coach in program history to eclipse the 100-win threshold.
- Siena has accumulated a 291-216 (.574) record in MAAC play all-time, including a 61-66 (.480) outcome under head coach Ali Jaques.
- For the second consecutive year, Siena was picked to finish third in the MAAC in the Preseason Coaches' Poll, with Maddie Sims (Second Team) and Aaliyah Jones (Third Team) earning Preseason All-MAAC honors.
- Adding a pair of assists to her total on Sunday, senior Deja Rawls sits in 14th all-time in program history in assists with 295. Rawls needs one more help to tie Ida Krogh (296, 2011-15) for 13th place.
- Maddie Sims is now 10th all-time in program history in blocks with 83. The junior needs four swats to tie Bronwyn Tobin (87, 1996-00) for ninth place.
- Maddie Sims currently leads all players in the MAAC in double-doubles, with five so far this season, including three in conference play.
- Having swept the regular season series over the last two seasons and won the last three and five of the last six matchups overall, Siena holds a 43-27 advantage all-time over Iona. The Saints took down the Gaels in their conference home opener on Jan. 6 by a score of 59-47. Iona has been held under 51 points when facing the Green and Gold in each of the last three contests.
- Junior Maddie Sims became the first Siena player to earn a MAAC weekly honor this season when she was named the conference's Player of the Week on Dec. 17. The accolade came after the Mount Laurel, N.J. native recorded her third double-double of the year, which propelled the team to a non-conference win over UMass on Dec. 16.
- Siena connected on 12 threes in a losing effort to Fairfield on Jan. 29, marking the first time since Dec. 6, 2016 that they compiled double-digit triples in a contest and the most overall in a tilt since Mar. 6, 2014.
