Box Score The Siena Saints women's tennis team took on the UMass Minutewomen on the road Saturday afternoon, as the home squad topped the Saints by a final score of 6-1.
In doubles, court 1 featuring
Kylie Mullaney and
Meagan Brown fought hard but lost, 7-6(5) in breaker after dropping courts 2 and 3 to drop the doubles point. In singles, the Saints only win came from Senior
Anessa Leyva on court 5, as she took a 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 victory. All other singles matches on the day were taken in straight sets by UMass.
"Overall I was pretty happy with the effort today against a very highly rated opponent in UMass," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. "I feel the last two weeks we played high caliber teams Cornell and UMass and played them very competitively. I feel this will help us to get ready for our MAAC matches the last 4 weeks of season."
Up next is Senior Day on Saturday afternoon, March 24 against the Monmouth Hawks. The ceremony will kick off and take place at 12 p.m., with the match commencing at 1 p.m. at Tri-City Fitness in Latham.
