Annie Brennan were chosen as the department's Leo Dufort Student-Athletes of the Month for February 2019.
Helping the Saints to a 1-1 record through the first two weeks of the 2019 campaign, Munn netted a goal and two assists, adding three ground balls and causing two turnovers. The Canandaigua, NY native is serving as a co-captain for the squad this season and earned MAAC All-Rookie Team honors back in 2016.
A MAAC All-Academic Team member in each of the last two seasons and a MAAC Academic Honor Roll selection in all three thus far, Munn holds a 3.84 cumulative GPA, and will graduate with a degree in finance in May.
Also serving as a team captain through the 2019 season, Brennan is tied for second on the team in scoring through the first five games of the year, having scored five goals and added seven assists. The Rochester, NY product has also collected nine ground balls, won four draw controls and caused a pair of turnovers this season.
A MAAC Academic Honor Roll member in 2018, Brennan holds a 3.33 cumulative GPA while pursuing a degree in psychology.
The Leo Dufort Student Athlete of the Month Award is presented nine times annually (September-May) throughout the academic year. The award recognizes exemplary achievements in both academics and athletics. The late Leo Dufort received a B.S. in marketing and management from Siena in August of 1977. His entire academic career was completed on a part-time basis beginning in the spring of 1961, as a married adult while at the same time raising five children. He passed away suddenly of a heart attack while cross country skiing in February of 1993. His wife Jeanine wanted to do something to immortalize his memory. The original plaque was donated to athletics and the department began the Leo Dufort Student Athlete of the Month Award to help carry out his legacy. Dufort graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1954 and was a Navy Veteran (USS Bennington) who worked for JL Hammett Co. at the time of his death.
