The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) has named
Caden Olmstead and
Riley Hegarty NCAA Division I men's Honorable Mention All-American choices, recognizing them as two of top players in the country for 2026.
Players selected for All-American were nominated by their coach and then received votes from the All-American Committee.
Olmstead and Hegarty become only the second Saints' duo to be named in the same season as USILA All-Americans in program history and the second consecutive season in which a member of Siena Men's Lacrosse was named to the team after
Pratt Reynolds was named as a winner last season.
All eight previous selections had received honorable mentions as well including Reynolds (2025), Richie Hurley (2014), Bryan Neufeld (2012), Neufeld and Duncan Seale (2011), Brent Herbst (2010 and 2009) and Tony Asterino (1981).
Olmstead and Hegarty were two of three players from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Association (MAAC) to earn the honor. Sacred Heart senior midfielder John Murray was the other selection from the conference.
Olmstead ranked 41st nationally in goals per game (2.41) with 41 goals. He ranked first in the MAAC in goals, second in goals per game, second in shots per game (9.56) and seventh in points per game (3.11)
The product of Chenango Forks High School and native of Binghamton, NY, became the 34
th member of the 100-point club in Siena Men's Lacrosse program history and was an All-MAAC First Team selection.
Hegarty ranked second in the MAAC in caused turnovers (1.44 per game) was fourth on the team in ground balls (39) and served as the main long pole defensive stopper, often drawing the opposing team's top offensive threats.
The graduate student from Shaker High School and native of Latham, NY, became just the fifth player in Siena history to be named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and was an All-MAAC First Team selection.
Siena (12-5) were MAAC Co-Regular Season Champions for a second straight season and reached the MAAC Championship Game this past season.
