LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Saints women's basketball program and head coach
Ali Jaques have signed espnW Top 30 point guard Ashley Williamson to a national letter of intent, adding her to the Green and Gold's Class of 2023 arriving to campus in the fall of 2019.
"Ashley is a fantastic addition to this recruiting class," said Jaques. "She will add a scoring punch to our back court. Coach Grant did a tremendous job and we are excited that she is a Siena Saint."
Williamson originally hails from Colorado Springs, Colorado before relocating to Elgin, South Carolina in 2013. She took the Palmetto State by storm, immediately garnering "ESPN Top 25 Girls to Watch" status her freshman year of high school at Spring Valley High School. She would score over 1,000 points in her high school career, where she garnered multiple All-Region, All-State, Elite Team, and scoring leader honors. She was named a McDonalds All-American nominee after her senior year, also earning Adidas and EBA All-American status.
The incoming Siena freshman also was a South Carolina State Champion in 2018, and a state title runner up in 2019. Williamson would be a North-South All-Star team selection for her performance this past season, as she totaled 422 points during her senior campaign. Her sophomore season, Williamson would lead the state of South Carolina in scoring, earning her SCHSL Region 5 Player of the Year and a spot at USA Basketball trials. She would ultimately become an All-USA South Carolina Girls Basketball Team Selection.
The Saints add Williamson to their class already consisting of Julia Hauer and Angel Parker, who signed NLI's to join Siena back in November.
