Three-fifths of Siena Women's Golf completed play in round two of the 2019 MAAC Championships in Lake Buena Vista, Florida before play was halted due to inclement weather Friday afternoon. Overall, the Saints ended the day remaining in fourth place, on-track for +28 on the day and +64 after two rounds.
Beginning the day inside the top-1o individually, senior Sara Riso and sophomore Abigail Chai-Onn both made it 15 holes before rain prevented them from finishing the round. Riso birdied three times and was +2 on the day, while Chai-Onn went under twice and was holding at +3, with both landing in a three-way split for sixth place.
Sophomore Grace Cuttone (+21, 165) and senior Ashley Nguyen (+29, 173) each improved their scored from round one on the Par-72, 5934-yard Magnolia Golf Course at Disney World, concluding the day in ties for 21st and 31st, respectively. Founding out the Saints' five-women competition squad was freshman Lena Kaufman, who finished round two with +36, 180, good to a split for 37th place.
At the time of the play stoppage, UAlbany continued to hold the lead on the field, set to finish +21 on the day and +33 after two rounds. Through 12 holes on her second card, Quinnipiac's Queenie Lai was even on the day and +2 on the weekend to lead the individual competition.
The team will conclude round two beginning at 7 AM Saturday morning before commencing the third and final go-around in the 54-hole event at 7:30 AM.
