Box Score The fourth-seeded Siena women's tennis team saw their season come to an end on Saturday afternoon, as they took on the Quinnipiac Bobcats. Despite taking the opening doubles point, the Saints would fall by a final of 4-1 in the MAAC Semifinals at the Mercer County Tennis Complex in West Windsor, NJ.
The pairing of
Kylie Mullaney and
Meagan Brown took the win on court 1 to get the ball rolling for the Saints early. Then it would be the newly-named All-MAAC duo of senior
Natalie Weaver and freshman
Dilara Spicer would take the win on court 2 for the second win, giving the Saints the doubles point. Each pair would take their match by a score of 6-2.
Then came singles action, where Siena struggled to find any rhythm. Both senior
Anessa Leyva and freshman
Laura Becker each put up fights in the fifth and sixth singles spots, each forcing a tiebreak and falling 7-6 in the second set. Weaver would fall 6-3, 6-4 in third singles, while Mullaney fell 6-0, 6-2 as the Bobcats clinched and the other courts went unfinished.
