It was a big Saturday for the Siena Saints track and field team, as the Green and Gold placed runners in four different events at this weekend's ECAC/IC4A Championships at Princeton University. Junior
Evans Kibet made the splash of the weekend, winning the Men's 800m championship, finishing in first in a field of 56 runners. Overall, the men's points ranked 14
th, while the women ranked 28
th.
Kibet took the top spot by a slim margin, putting up a time of 1:49.07, beating out Navy's John Finnegan who ran the other sub 1:50 time of 1:49.84. Kibet's time now ranks him 22
nd in the NCAA East Region, setting him up for a possible national appearance. The time would set the program record in the event, topping his own time of 1:49.21 at Army West Point in April of 2018.
Senior
Sarah Forman also showed a strong effort in the women's 1500m, as she posted a time of 4:22.95 for a sixth place finish. That time would once again set a personal record for Forman, possibly wrapping up a decorated career in the Green and Gold as she sits on the edge of an NCAA qualifying time. Her time would beat her previous time in in the 1500m by four seconds.
