Marist scored 11 runs over their final three innings at bat powered by a seven-run sixth to capture the series opener from Siena Baseball 15-2 in Poughkeepsie.
Devan Kruzinski led the Saints with three hits.
Nine different players recorded hits as part of an 18-hit attack for Marist (26-23, 14-8). Anthony Lazar and Robbie Armatage each tallied three hits and knocked in three runs apiece for the Red Foxes who clinched a MAAC Tournament berth with the victory.
Brian Kelly notched a pair of hits to match Kruzinski with a multi-hit effort for Siena (17-32, 11-11), while
Zach Durfee and
Alex Milone each knocked in runs.
The Saints pulled within 4-2 in the top of the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Durfee, but Marist put the game out of reach in the home half of the inning. The Red Foxes batted around in sending 10 men to the plate while registering seven runs on six hits in the frame.
Siena concludes regular season play Saturday with doubleheader action against Marist beginning at noon in Poughkeepsie.
