Three Saints Earn WGCA All-American Scholar Honors

Women’s Golf’s Riso, Fiorina, Chai-Onn Receive Recognition

LOUDONVILLE, NY – For the second consecutive year the Siena Women's Golf trio of Sara Riso, Marisa Fiorina, and Abigail Chai-Onn have earned Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars recognition. The trio was amongst 1,097 women's collegiate golfers spanning all levels who were honored as 2018-19 WGCA All-American Scholars for meeting the stringent criteria of maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better.

A recent Siena College graduate, Riso completes her decorated career by being bestowed with this prestigious honor following all four of her seasons. The Hamburg, New York native earned her degree in actuarial science while achieving a remarkable 3.97 cumulative GPA. Named to the MAAC All-Academic Team and Academic Honor Roll in each year of eligibility, Riso was a member of Siena Athletics' distinguished "4.0 Club," and was honored back in May for holding the highest GPA of any senior student athlete in the School of Science.

Fiorina has now received WGCA All-American Scholar acclaim following each of her first three seasons. The rising senior from Oakland, New Jersey currently boasts a 3.68 cumulative GPA while pursuing her degree in marketing. Fiorina has been named to both the MAAC All-Academic Team and Academic Honor Roll in each year of eligibility.

Chai-Onn earns WGCA All-American Scholar recognition for the second consecutive year. The rising sophomore from Miami, Florida holds a 3.74 GPA while majoring in English. Chai-Onn was named Siena College's Leo Dufort Female Student Athlete of the Month in April, and was one of six Siena student athletes to be heralded as an Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar earlier this year.
