Saints Welcome Maine For Final Non-Conference Home Match

Women's Soccer Looks to Conclude Non-Conference Home Slate on High Note

LOUDONVILLE, NY - Siena Women's Soccer looks to conclude it's non-conference home slate on a high note when the Saints host Maine at 1 p.m. at Siena Field. The match will be streamed on Facebook Live via the team's page.

Joe Mixie has the call of the home opener on Facebook Live, which can be viewed free of charge by clicking the corresponding link. Live stats and pressbox twitter updates will also be provided via the links at the top of the page.

Siena (1-5-1) enters it's final non-conference home match looking to build off of recent momentum. The Saints secured their first point of 2019 last Sunday with a hard fought 1-1 draw vs. defending Northeast Conference Champion and preseason favorite Central Connecticut, and then earned their first win of the season Thursday with a 2-1 road triumph at Big East foe Seton Hall. Siena will now look to defend its home pitch where the Saints have achieved a stellar 36-9-3 (.781) mark in non-conference action over the past 12 years.

Senior goalkeeper Taylor Dorado, who has already re-written the program's record books over her first three-and-a-half remarkable years in net, will look to add another milestone this afternoon. Dorado sits just two saves shy of joining Lisa Miceli '00 (609) and Maria Theodorou '96 (574) as the only goalkeepers in program history to reach 300 career saves.

Maine (4-1) enters play having won four straight following a season-opening 2-1 loss at Central Connecticut. The Black Bears have outscored their opponents 8-2 over the past four matches, culminating with a 2-1 victory at MAAC foe Marist Thursday night.

Siena and Maine meet for just the third time and the second straight season. The Black Bears secured a 2-1 victory last Sept. 9 in Orono behind goals from Julia Mahoney and Nicole Bailey. Ashleigh Sarafin, who recorded her first collegiate multi-goal performance in Thursday night's win at Seton Hall, scored the Saints' goal against Maine. Siena won the inaugural meeting between the programs 3-2 during the 2000 season in the Governor's Cup in Albany.
