LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Women's Soccer dynamic duo of
Catherine Rogers and
Cate Burns has been honored by the Metro Conference after propelling the Saints to a fourth straight win Saturday. Rogers was heralded as the Metro Offensive Player of the Week with Burns earning Defensive Player of the Week acclaim.
This marks the first time that Siena has boasted multiple conference weekly award winners in the same week since
Megan Stowell was named Offensive Player of the Week and Rogers Rookie of the Week back on Sept. 9, 2024. Rogers records her seventh career conference weekly honor including her second Offensive Player of the Week award, while Burns is now a four-time career Defensive Player of the Week following her second honor this season (Aug. 31).
Rogers factored in the scoring in both goals in the Saints 2-0 victory over Mount St. Mary's Saturday on Hickey Field. The Webster, New York standout opened the scoring just over five minutes in, before setting up an insurance tally in the 17

Rogers is currently tied for the conference lead in scoring with 24 points (25
th nationally), while ranking second in both goals (10 – 22
nd nationally) and match-winning goals (five – tied for sixth most nationally), and tied for seventh in assists (four). She continues to vault up the program's career record book as well, now ranking tied for fourth all-time in assists (18), tied for fifth in match-winning goals (seven), tied for sixth in goals (24), and seventh in scoring (66).
Burns made four of her six saves in the second half to preserve the clean sheet in the Saints win over the Mountaineers. With her second stop of the opening stanza, the Spencerport, New York native eclipsed the 200 career save milestone. The shutout was the junior's conference-leading ninth so far this season, equaling the program single-season benchmark.
Burns currently ranks tied for second nationally with her nine clean sheets, while standing second in the Metro in both goals against average (0.80) and save percentage (.853), and fourth in saves (64). Currently the program's all-time career leader in both shutouts (24) and goals against average (0.76), she also stands second all-time in save percentage (.840) and third in wins (29).
Rogers, Burns, and the Saints return to action when they travel to Merrimack for a Wednesday night tilt at 7 p.m. in North Andover, Massachusetts.
