The Siena men's tennis team hit the road for the first time this season, as they headed south to Hempstead to partake in the Hofstra Invitational. There were many bright spots, highlighted by the 2-0 from doubles squad featuring seniors Cameron Kirkwood and Alex Giannakitsidis. They topped their two opponents by scores of 7-5 and 6-3.

Also playing well in doubles, but making it to the back draw in the main draw would be Matt Bellino and Muhammad Sawani, as the pair dropped their first match 6-1, but bounced back for a 6-4 triumph. With a win in their first match tomorrow, they would potentially face teammates Guillermo Lopez Torres and Tomas Del Olmo in the finals of the Draw A back draw after that squad drew a bye after their first round loss.

In singles, it was a hit and miss day from the Green and Gold with many 1-1 days, but only two remain to play on Sunday. Geovanny Mendoza still stands in the C draw, losing his first match but grabbing a W in the second by a score of 8-5 to advance. Kirkwood will also partake in the Draw D back draw as well on Saturday.

Day two of the Hofstra Invitational will start things up at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. The Saints will take to the court at that time.
