SCHENECTADY - Junior
Nanea Perkins ran away with a pair of single wins, one in comeback fashion on Friday afternoon in the Siena Invitational. Perkins won both of her matches, putting her in tomorrow's semifinals at 9 a.m.
Sophomore
Sarah Marro won her first match of the day before falling in her second match. Both
Meagan Brown and
Juliana Goehner lost their first matches before pulling through with victories in their second match of the day. Freshman Nastasia Koniaev won her second match as well after dropping her first match of the day. In doubles, Koniaev and Brown won their first matchup before falling in their second.
"We have been back for only three days, so this was a pretty good showing in singles," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. "We have some work to do in doubles, but we will get there working hard in the fall."
The Saints will host Day Two of the Siena Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 7 with the opening matches kicking things off at 9 a.m.
