The Saints are coming off a tough road loss to the MAAC front runners, the Rider Broncs last Saturday evening. Siena took the Broncs to the brink on their home court, with two opportunities to take the lead and tie in the final minute of the game. The Broncs would hang on for a 70-66 win, as Siena got a 22 point night from senior Sabrina Piper. Out of the Green and Gold's three wins, two of them have come at home when Siena defeated Sacred Heart (Nov. 16) and UAlbany (Dec. 7).

In the series history, Siena and Monmouth will be squaring off for the 22nd time on Thursday night, with Ali Jaques holding an 8-3 record against the Jaspers as a head coach. All eight wins came in a row from 2014-15 through last season.

The last time these two teams met was back on Feb. 9, 2019. It was a whirlwind of a game for the Siena Saints as they faced Monmouth at the Alumni Recreation Center. Down by as much as 17 in the first quarter, the Saints clawed their way back into the game. But Monmouth was able to take advantage in overtime, as Siena fell 56-54. Despite the result, Joella Gibson scored 10 points with 10 rebounds for the first and only double-double of her career.

Siena is currently among one of their best seasons in regards to attendance in recent memory. Through six home games at the ARC, the Saints have averaged 1,198 fans – their highest total since the Green and Gold in 2003-04 averaged 1,422.
