ITHACA, NY – Siena's Men's & Women's Indoor Track programs continued their 2020 seasons at the Cornell Kane Invitational in Ithaca, NY Saturday, with each squad slated against regional competition.
The women competed in six different events at Barton Hall, while the men took the track for five different races.
Junior Holly Bednarek began the women's competition with a third place finish in the 500-meter run (1:24.62), while classmate Olivia Durant placed the same in the 1000-meter run (3:25.53).
Freshman Elaine Atanasova then took second in the one-mile run (5:14.81), while sophomore Olivia Lomascolo followed in third (5:15.59), and junior Regina Rosati placed fifth (5:17.87).
Senior Camryn Johnson continued her solid indoor season with a second place result in the 3000-meter run (10:31.78), while junior Carissa Kahn took fifth (10:9.88).
Finally the Saints group of Durant and sophomores Shannon Bergin, Allison Hill and Julia Bryant ran a time trial in the 4x800 meter relay, finishing with a time of 10:40.04.
On the men's side, freshman Matthew LaFramboise registered his second top-2 finish of the season with a second-place result in the 1000-meter run (2:33.29), while junior Jacob Greski placed third (2:33.95).
Freshman Aidan Gillooley took home fourth in the one-mile run (4:18.28), while sophomore Owen Walker (8:55.37), junior Aidan Canavan (8:56.17) and junior Michael Stoker (8:58.10) finished second, third and fourth, respectively in the 3000-meter run. Finally, Freshman Christopher Adamski recorded a top-5 finish with fifth place in the 5000-meter run (16:06.39).
Siena's indoor season is set to continue next weekend, when the Saints make their second trip to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY for the UAlbany Winter Classic on Friday, February 7.
