Sophomore Lala Watts created more Siena women's basketball history on Thursday night at Iona, as despite the Saints falling by a final score of 58-47 she would move into second place for the most blocks in a single season in program history with 52. She would surpass Serena Moore's previous total of 51 set back in 2010-11, and only stands behind Laura Lord's mark of 74 in a season set back in 1985-86.

The Saints were led by a 16 point, six rebound showing from junior Rayshel Brown. She would go 7-for-14 from the field and snag a steal along the way. Watts was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field for 11 points, six rebounds, and her three blocks. Also in double-figures was senior Sabrina Piper, who scored 10 points and came up with a team-high three steals.

Watts continues to rank first in the MAAC in blocked shots, currently averaging 2.2 blocks per game. She is the only play in the MAAC averaging over two blocks per game, as Rider's Amari Johnson ranks second with 1.6 blocks per game average. Watts' 52 blocks also rank Top 35 in the NCAA in both overall blocked shots and blocked shots per game.

In the series history, Siena and Saint Peter's will be squaring off for the 73rd time on Saturday night, with the Saints holding a 41-32 advantage all-time. Head Coach Ali Jaques stands eight wins away from passing Joe Hogan on Siena's all-time coaching wins list.

The last time these two teams met was back on Jan. 6. The Saints would see an 18-game winning streak against the Saint Peter's Peacocks snapped as the Green and Gold fell on the road 87-83 despite a season-high in points as a team. The last time the Peacocks defeated the Saints was back on Feb. 13, 2010.

The Saints were led by a 24-point night from senior Sabrina Piper, who went 9-for-16 from the field including four threes. Freshman Julia Hauer scored a new career-high 17 points and snagged five rebounds. Sophomore Margo Peterson also scored a new career-high, pouring in 14 points that included three from behind the arc. Grabbing six rebounds, all on the offensive glass, was sophomore Amari Anthony.
