ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Siena Women's Basketball meets a familiar MAAC foe in the postseason on Thursday afternoon in the 2020 Hercules Tires MAAC Championships at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. The 6th seeded Saints battle No. 3 seed Fairfield for a program-record 14
th time in the tournament at 12 p.m., with the game being broadcasted on ESPN3.
Fairfield (15-14) and Siena (11-19) meet for the 14
th time in postseason play, after the Stags swept the regular season series between the two schools. The winner of today's Quarterfinal game will advance to face No. 2 seed Marist in the semifinals Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. on ESPN3.

Ten things you need to know in Siena's game vs. Fairfield:
- Following a first round exit from last year's MAAC Tournament, #6 Siena is back in the MAAC Quarterfinals for the 10th time in the last 11 and the 13th occasion in the last 15 years. The Saints improved to 8-3 in first round action all-time with Tuesday's win, and 5-6 as the no. 6 seed and 23-9 in MAAC Tournament openers.
- Siena now owns a 28-29 mark all-time in the MAAC Tournament, and is making its 31st appearance in the event. Siena owns a 16-10 mark in the quarterfinal round, and has advanced to the semifinals on 17 occasions, including three times (2018, 2015, 2013) under Head Coach
Ali Jaques.
- The Saints came back from a 13-point first half deficit against Canisius on Tuesday, marking it's third double-digit deficit overcome on the season, the second time it had done so against the Golden Griffins (12 points, 1/11/20). The Saints came back from an 11 point rift in the MAAC Quarterfinals in 2011, and down by 10 in the same round in 2007, both against Fairfield.
- Siena will look to win two games in the MAAC Tournament for the first time since 2003. The Saints have only ever advanced to the semifinals from the first round once, back in their first year of MAAC competition in 1990.
- The Green and Golf will now face off with Fairfield in postseason action for the 15th times, with the Stags being their most frequent foe in the MAAC Tournament. The teams last played each other in 2013, with No. 6 Siena upsetting No. 3 Fairfield, 52-48 in the Quarterfinal round at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Fairfield leads the postseason series, 8-5, and owns a 4-3 advantage in the quarterfinal round.

Sabrina Piper added 16 points to her career total as the team's leading scorer in Tuesday's win. The newest (29th) member of the program's 1000-point club now sits 28th all-time with 1,032 points, and needs 29 points (1,061) to move up in the ranks.
- Sophomore Lala Watts recorded five blocks Tuesday to tie the team MAAC Tournament record for most swats in a game. Serena Moore also had five blocks in a semifinal matchup with Marist on March 5, 2011. Watts now has 66 blocks on the season, and is just eight away from tying the single-season program record (74, Laura Lord, 1985-86)
- The Saints' 50 rebounds against the Golden Griffins marked its highest output on the boards this season, with the Saints winning the rebound battle for the ninth time this season and the third time in the last four games.
- Prior to Tuesday's win over Canisius, Siena's last victory in the MAAC Tournament came in the 2017-18 season when they defeated #6 seeded Niagara 71-60 in the Quarterfinals at the Times Union Center.
