LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Men's Tennis program had a solid day in Day 1 at the ITA Northeast Regional held at the University of Pennsylvania on Friday. With one entry into the Main Doubles draw and one entrant in the Main Singles draw, the Saints would set a new program first in the effort.
The doubles duo of
Matt Nardone and
Agustin Suarez would kick off the day early with a 9 a.m. start in their doubles match against Marist's Dylan Friedman & Gabriel Castillo-Sanchez. The pair would claim an 8-4 victory over their MAAC foe, the first ITA main draw win in program history.
In singles play, senior
Tomas del Olmo took to the court against St. John's Axel Vila Antuna. He would fare well, but would fall in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to end his weekend.
The Saints duo pair will move into competition on Saturday against Columbia's Max Westphal and Hugo Hashimoto, with opening serve at 9 a.m.
