LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Men's Golf made history in its return to home play for the first time in three years, shooting the lowest single round in the 76-year history of the team. The Saints hosted the third annual Murray Cup against sister school St. Bonaventure on Friday at Schuyler Meadows Golf Course in Loudonville, New York.
Despite falling to the Bonnies in the event's return for the first time since 2018, the Saints carded a team round of 283 on the 18-hole course, beating the old single-round record of 284 set in the third round of the 2016 MAAC Championships. Siena also set a program record for low round under-par, going five strokes under as a team. SBU carded 280, with Christian Chapman shooting a low round of 66.
Following the result, the Saints have now carded eight consecutive rounds under 300 to begin the 2021-22 campaign, which continues an unprecedented streak within the program. Siena will conclude its Fall 2021 competition slate at the Lehigh Invitational October 22-23 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
