LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Saints women's tennis team gets their 2021 season underway on Saturday, as they head east to take on the UConn Huskies. Opening serve goes with their Big East foe at 1:30 PM.
This will be the second overall meeting between the Saints and Huskies, with the first meeting coming back in January of 2018. The Huskies would win the matchup 6-1. UConn comes into the match already having three matches under their belts, holding a 2-1 overall record.
The Saints were picked third in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Green and Gold return the likes of junior
Meagan Brown, and seniors
Kylie Mullaney and
Nanea Perkins – players who all competed in the top three spots in the lineup the previous few seasons. The likes of
Maanya Viswanath,
Anastasia Koniaev, and
Petra Miszczak will all compete for spots in the starting lineup along with newcomers
Emma Boggiali and
Shelby Madeiros.
After Saturday's matchup with UConn, the Saints will matchup at Providence on Saturday, Mar. 27.
