LATHAM, NY – Siena Women's Tennis is back at Tri-City Fitness in Latham for the first time this season, as they get set to take on the Binghamton Bearcats starting at 5:45 p.m.

The Siena Women's Tennis team opened its 2021 spring season on the road against the UConn Huskies. The Saints would fall by a final score of 5-2 against the Big East opponent.

Despite losing the doubles point, Petra Miszczak would earn a point for the Saints in singles play as she won at #3 singles by a final of 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7) in a bounce back match. Siena would also get a point at #6 singles from Anastasia Koniaev, who fought back and won in a thrilling match by a final of 4-6, 6-2, 10-8. The other four main lineup spots for the Saints in singles play would fall in straight sets.

The Bearcats were defeated by St. Bonaventure in their opening match of the 2021 season last Saturday, and fell to Temple yesterday. Michelle Eisenberg will look to lead the Bearcats, after winning six matches last year at first singles.

After today's match, the Saints will begin conference play as well with a matchup at Marist next Saturday, Apr. 3.
