LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Men's Tennis is back with much anticipation. After having their traditional season in the spring cut short due to the continuing health and safety concerns surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Saints are now ready to hit the courts today at Merrimack. Opening serve goes up at 1 PM.
The men's return two of their top-of-the-lineup stars in junior
Tomas del Olmo and senior
Guillermo Lopez Torres. Both will play at the 1-2 positions, with the likes of fifth year
Geovanny Mendoza, and sophomores
Marvin Oberli and
Matt Nardone to help guide a group of young freshman along as the group will battle out for the remaining singles and doubles spots.
In dual match openers, the Saints are winners of four of their last five, dropping last season's opener to St. Francis Brooklyn. The Saints were 5-7 before last season's shutdown.
Merrimack comes into the match with an 0-3 record so far on the season, having faced Boston University twice, along with Fairfield. All three of their matches so far have come at home.
After today's match, the Saints won't appear again until Mar. 21 when they play host to Hofstra at Tri-City Fitness in their home opener.
