LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Volleyball is back for the 2021 season with much anticipation. After having their traditional 2020 fall season cut short due to the continuing health and safety concerns surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Saints are ready to hit the ground running in an opening weekend matchup with the Canisius Golden Griffins in Buffalo.

Madoka Weldon will hold down the fort defensively sharing libero duties. The Saints were selected seventh in the Preseason MAAC Coaches' Poll.
Canisius is led by Junior middle hitter Camila Vazquez, as she was named to the 2020-21 Preseason All-MAAC Team this spring. Vazquez led the league with a .385 hitting percentage during her sophomore campaign, and was tabbed an All-MAAC Second teamer for her efforts. Sophomores Bree Long and Ella Loussia return for their second year as Golden Griffins, following their successful rookie seasons for Canisius. Both Long and Loussia were named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team following the 2019 campaign. The Golden Griffins are led by first-year head coach Shannon Thompson as she makes her Canisius debut at the helm of the program on Sundnay.
The Saints' 10-match MAAC schedule, which features five dates of doubleheaders, will take place on all four Sundays and one Thursday in March. Siena will open at the UHY Center next Sunday, Mar. 14 when they face Saint Peter's.
