Siena Outdoor Track continued action in its 2021 campaign Friday evening, competing at the Redhawk Invitational hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University in Rochester, New York.
With no team score awarded to measure success, the Saints saw runners set several personal bests and land among the program's top times in multiple events.
Continuing off her past success from this season, senior
Morgan Serkes won the women's 800-meter race with a time of 2:15.19, good for the second-best mark in program history in the event and a three second improvement from her previous best time set at the Rider Five Way meet earlier in the month. Classmate
Monica Strain placed seventh with a time of 2:20.69 for the program's fourth best time in the event. On the men's side, sophomore
Matthew Laframboise led the way in the 800 with a fourth-place finish of 1:55.98.
Junior
Olivia Lomascolo continued the team's top times during the 1500-meter race, clocking a time of 4:37.08 for a personal best and the second fastest time in program history. Sophomore
Tommy Anderson finished seventh individually on the men's end in the event with a mark of 4:01.55.
Finally, the Saints were led by sophomore
Sophia Vinciguerra in the women's 5000-meter race with a fifth-place finish in a time of 18:27.40. Senior
Michael Rautter ran a time of 15:46.80 for the men.
Siena will continue its spring 2021 outdoor track campaign by sending a group of runners to the Monmouth Invitational on Sunday, April 18.
