Siena Outdoor track made one more trip west to cap the Spring 2021 regular season Friday afternoon, competing at the UB Twilight Invitational on the campus of the University at Buffalo. Both the men and the women placed third as teams, with several Saints taking home individual victories and best times.
Senior
Morgan Serkes posted yet another individual victory in the women's 800 meter race, running a time of 2:15.72 that falls inside the top-5 times ever run by Siena in the event. Junior
Olivia Lomascolo, senior
Regina Rosati, and sophomore
Delia McDade Clay followed behind, placing fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively. Lomascolo would go on to take first in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:37.96, good for the fourth best in program history. Rosati took third in the event, while McDade Clay placed fourth.
Sophomore
Elaine Atanasova capped a successful individual day on the women's side with a win in the 5000-meter race, logging a time of 17:42.53. Senior
Carissa Kahn placed second in the race, while seniors
Mia Forster and
Mary McNally took fourth and fifth, respectively. The Saints also ran a team in the women's 4x400 meter relay, with McDade Clay, Serkes, sophomore
Sophia Vinciguerra, and Rosati racing to a third place finish.
Sophomore
Brandon Olden highlighted the Green and Gold on the men's side, placing second in the 5000 meter run with a time of 14:32,83, which was good for the third best ever run in the event and the fastest in Siena history since 1982. Sophomore
Matthew Laframboise took second place in the 800 meter run with a mark of 2:00.73, while seniors
Ryan Holland and
Jacob Greski finished third and fifth, respectively.
Greski went on to take second in the 1500 meter event with a time of 4:03.43, while freshman
Killian McNamee placed second, classmate
Ben Guerin took third, and senior
Michael Rautter finished fourth. The men rounded out the day by winning the 4x400 relay, with the grouping of Holland, Laframboise, freshman
Griffin Cooke, and freshman
Patrick Fiorillo running a time of 3:36.14.
With the 2021 regular season in the books, Siena will now prepare to take part in the 2021 MAAC Men's & women's Outdoor Track Championships, which are set for May 8-9 in Lawrenceville, NJ on the campus of Rider University.
