Several Saints Won Events and Posted Impressive Times Friday Afternoon

Siena Outdoor track made one more trip west to cap the Spring 2021 regular season Friday afternoon, competing at the UB Twilight Invitational on the campus of the University at Buffalo. Both the men and the women placed third as teams, with several Saints taking home individual victories and best times.

Senior Morgan Serkes posted yet another individual victory in the women's 800 meter race, running a time of 2:15.72 that falls inside the top-5 times ever run by Siena in the event. Junior Olivia Lomascolo, senior Regina Rosati, and sophomore Delia McDade Clay followed behind, placing fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively. Lomascolo would go on to take first in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:37.96, good for the fourth best in program history. Rosati took third in the event, while McDade Clay placed fourth.

Sophomore Elaine Atanasova capped a successful individual day on the women's side with a win in the 5000-meter race, logging a time of 17:42.53. Senior Carissa Kahn placed second in the race, while seniors Mia Forster and Mary McNally took fourth and fifth, respectively. The Saints also ran a team in the women's 4x400 meter relay, with McDade Clay, Serkes, sophomore Sophia Vinciguerra, and Rosati racing to a third place finish.

Sophomore Brandon Olden highlighted the Green and Gold on the men's side, placing second in the 5000 meter run with a time of 14:32,83, which was good for the third best ever run in the event and the fastest in Siena history since 1982. Sophomore Matthew Laframboise took second place in the 800 meter run with a mark of 2:00.73, while seniors Ryan Holland and Jacob Greski finished third and fifth, respectively.

Greski went on to take second in the 1500 meter event with a time of 4:03.43, while freshman Killian McNamee placed second, classmate Ben Guerin took third, and senior Michael Rautter finished fourth. The men rounded out the day by winning the 4x400 relay, with the grouping of Holland, Laframboise, freshman Griffin Cooke, and freshman Patrick Fiorillo running a time of 3:36.14.

With the 2021 regular season in the books, Siena will now prepare to take part in the 2021 MAAC Men's & women's Outdoor Track Championships, which are set for May 8-9 in Lawrenceville, NJ on the campus of Rider University.
