Box Score One day after opening their spring season, the Siena Women's Tennis team returned home to face LIU at Tri-City Fitness for their first home match of the spring. The Saints would fall to the Sharks by a final score of 7-0.
"Although the scores were not in our favor this weekend, we played two very strong fully funded programs and I like the fight we had today more then yesterday against St John's," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. 'With only four days of practice total since the semester started, it is tough but feel like each week we will get where we need to be by March."
Senior
Meagan Brown and freshman
Laia Giralt would win at #1 doubles by a final score of 6-4. However, the Saints would fall in both #2 and #3 doubles as LIU would gain the 1-0 advantage.
Despite a strong showing from
Anastasia Koniaev at #6 singles, the Saints would struggle throughout the lineup as the Sharks took wins in all six singles courts.
Siena return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 5 when they head on the road to face Brown at 11 a.m.
